Hi, I'm Linnéa Baker (pronounced lyn-NAY-uh). My name means "beautiful flower," and over the years I've come to believe that healing often
resembles a flower, it grows through seasons of darkness before reaching toward the light.
I am a mom to two adult sons, a grandma to a 2 year old grandson, a Mental Health Specialist & Educator, First Responder Crisis Intervention Specialist, Piano Artist, Singer-Songwriter, Inspirational Speaker, Author and
Breast Cancer Survivor.
I went to Northwest University and specialized in psychology and theology. I went into the mental health field because i know what it is like to struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma and grief. I went through 15 years of my own trauma therapy and know that recovery is real. I am living proof. Hope is real. For much of my life, I hid my struggles behind a smile, believing I simply wasn't enough. But through therapy, faith, community, and the courage to ask for help, I discovered that our struggles do not define us, they can become the very places where healing begins. Our rock bottoms can become new foundations that we can build and rise up from.For more than 25 years, I have shared my story on stages, in counseling rooms, and through writing to remind others that they are not alone.Through Begin Within, my mission is to help people who look like they're doing fine on the outside but are quietly struggling on the inside. Whether you're navigating high-functioning depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or emotional exhaustion, I hope you'll find practical tools, compassionate encouragement and a safe place to begin or continue your journey, here.
